FAQ

Do you take insurance?

No, we are out-of-network providers, which means that we do not work directly with insurance providers and that you are fully responsible for your session fees at the time of service. Each month we can provide you a detailed invoice (what is commonly referenced as a “superbill”) for every session you attend, which includes all of the information insurance companies require (e.g., license #, NPI, date of service). You will be responsible for submitting invoices or any paperwork to your insurance provider on your own.  .

How long do sessions last?

Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes, although session times can be extended if needed. Sessions for couples and families are typically 90 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24 hours notice for a cancellation. There is a fee for late cancellations.

What should I expect in the first session?

The first session will be a 50-minute appointment. Your therapist will talk to you about what brings you to therapy and spend time getting a sense of who you are and what challenges you face. Then your therapist will share preliminary impressions of how you can begin to approach your concerns in therapy.

How long will therapy take?

This will depend upon your unique circumstances. Most of our client's make substantial progress on their initial therapy goals between 3-6 months of weekly sessions, however many clients choose to set new goals and continue working past that timeframe.

Where will we meet?

For clients in the Boulder area, we typically meet at our Boulder office. For individuals and couples outside the area, we also provide sessions via telehealth (online video).

What are your rates and how do I pay?

Please see our services page for a description of our services and rates. Payments are made by credit card at the time of your session. We also offer sliding scale services.

How do I get started?

The best way to get started is to click on the "Start Now" button at the top. You will be directed to a simple form where you can describe your therapy needs and the best time to reach you. One of our intake counselors will then call you back to talk about your therapy needs and to schedule a first appointment.
